Lately

1 - Lights at Crown Center. As soon as I walked through this area, I knew I wanted to plan a date with Sean here sometime soon!

2 - I found these Christmas-flavored sodas at World Market a couple weeks ago! The bottles are really cute and I really just want to try them and see what they taste like! ...might be a good stocking stuffer idea!

3 - I made these little tree snow globes a while back. My best one is in a fish bowl which I will share sometime soon along with my Christmas decorations!

4 - My niece Ryleigh and her mama (my sister) had their family photos last week so here are my faves. Ryleigh is such a ham. I love my little peanut!

5 - This, my friends, is photo evidence of my first successful cake from scratch! My birthday was last Saturday and since I love to bake, I decided to make myself a vanilla (and perhaps whiskey...)-flavored cake! It was super yummy and the color turned out perfect!

6 - Sean is such a great listener/hint-taker when it comes to buying me gifts! He bought me my very first Pandora bracelet and two charms! One of which I had already picked out! I'm not sure if he knew I wanted it or not, but I like to think he just knows me that well. ;)

7 - So I mentioned about a month ago that I was in a lot of pain and considering having an infected tooth I had pulled. Well, I eventually made an appointment but just a couple days before, the tooth stopped hurting all together and I found that I was able to chew normally and all that without a hint of an issue.
Fast-forward to last week and the pain started all over again, but way worse than before. Not only that, but the whole right side of my face swelled up like a balloon.
I immediately made an appointment to have to tooth extracted. The other option was to get a root canal which I would have to wait until January or February for and I honestly wouldn't have been able to wait one more day, so I just went ahead and had it done. The operation was fine but the before and after were a complete nightmare. Long story short, I went in with the intention of just doing a local anesthetic and ended up having to be put to sleep because the pain was too much. There are other reasons the experience was the worst but it's over now and I'd rather not dwell on it. I have my medicine and plans to get an implant sometime after the first of the year. My face still looks like a chipmunk but it's getting better by the day, I think. Plus, chipmunk cheeks are cute, right? Or just maybe not on (adult) humans...

Lately

Settling into married life has been pretty easy, believe it or not. Everything has felt pretty normal for the most part and Sean and I have transitioned into daily life again very well since the wedding. I don't have much to post about right now, so I just wanted to share some photos of some things that we've been up to these past two weeks.

Of course I got sick immediately after the wedding, so Sean made us soup and grilled cheese for dinner one night. It was actually really yummy since he used different cheeses and made red pepper tomato soup.

The evidence of fall is all around us here. I love the trees in our neighborhood! They're so colorful and happy; I've never seen such colorful leaves before! I point them out to Sean when I see them. He must get annoyed, but I can't help it.

I've taken a liking to Starbucks' Salted Caramel Mocha and since they're kind of expensive, I've started making my own thing. I even bought some pumpkin pie spice to sprinkle on top.

My disposable camera photos were developed yesterday. These are some a couple of my favorites.

Sean and I went with friends to the Renaissance Festival and it rained the entire time, as you can see from the mud. It was still fun though. Lots of food!

I got my new glasses today! I was kind of worried that no one would like them except for me, but everyone has been super positive about them. I think they make me look 'trendy'. Ha

My brother and I are great buds!

And here is Milo just chillin' on our new rug. He's such a babe.

Lately

I am glad that this week is nearly over and that classes are beginning on Monday. I have been out of school for almost a year, and I actually miss it. Not only that, but I am looking forward to starting so that I can get done. Sean is graduating this May which was my original graduation time, but since I took a break, it looks like I will be done the fall after. So only one more year! We really want to move abroad right after I finish which I really look forward to. But for right now, we are here in good ol' Kansas City.

Sean took me clothes shopping for school earlier this week which I thought was very nice of him. I just got a few things, but they will last me for quite a while, I think. It was nice spending the day with Sean again. I think we spent nearly four hours at the mall just looking at clothes. One thing I love about Sean is that he really likes shopping for clothes. He likes trying on new styles and colors and we give each other feedback about what we like and don't like about the outfits we choose. I don't think very many guys are like that about clothes, so I am very grateful that Sean is.

Last night, we went out with a friend that we hadn't seen in a while. It was a successful night and I think everyone had a good time. We don't go out very often, but I don't mind it when we do. I rarely drink when we go out; in fact, I only had water last night, but I enjoy the conversation and watching my friends choose their next drinks. After the bar, Sean and I went to Steak and Shake before heading home. But unfortunately I don't have any pictures from last night. I really need to get better about taking photos. I think I just always feel weird about it. I am also really bad because I get caught up in the experience and I forget. Hardly a problem for most as that is something they want to do more of, but when you're out to record your experiences, it's not too great.

We didn't come home until 5 in the morning so I ended up sleeping until 3 pm. I did, however, receive a call from the job I applied for and I got it, so that is pretty exciting. I am also really glad that I won't be starting until September 2nd as next week my focuses will be on school and getting into the swing of things again. So it seems that everything is working out for right now.
Here are some photos from this week.

Such a babe!

I got these black pants from H&M that look kind of like leggings but they are a thicker material, so I can wear them with regular tops!

Sean's been bringing home this soda from work and it tastes so good! I love it way better (ha!) than regular Dr. Pepper!

I've been practicing on my ukulele a lot more lately. I've learned about three or four songs and it is getting easier and easier to learn new chords.

I bought this succulent from Trader Joe's! He loves just chillin' in the bathroom and looking out the window!
